Utility Debt Securitization Authority

The Utility Debt Securitization Authority (UDSA) is a government entity responsible for LIPA’s financial reporting. The UDSA is a component unit of LIPA with a mission to authorize, issue, and sell restructuring bonds to finance the purchase of restructuring property.

The UDSA, led by a Governor-appointed Board of Trustees, keeps costs low for LIPA customers by managing the Authority’s debt by paying upfront and ongoing financing costs – lowering the costs of electric service for customers.
