Proposed Rulemaking

  • LIPA proposes to modify the Tariff for Electric Service to modify the Small Generator Interconnection Procedures (SGIP), which outline interconnection procedures for Distributed Generators and Energy Storage Systems under 10 MW. To view the entire proposal, Click Here.
  • LIPA proposes to modify the Tariff for Electric Service to implement rate adjustments as determined through LIPA’s annual budget process. To view the entire proposal, Click Here.
  • LIPA proposes to modify the Tariff for Electric Service to: (1) transition the mass market Bring Your Own Battery Program from the Commercial System Relief Program / Distribution Load Relief Program to the Direct Load Control Program, and (2) eliminate duplicative performance-based compensation for traditional Net Energy Metering customers.   • LIPA proposes to modify the Tariff for Electric Service to: (1) clarify that all Qualifying Low Income Customers enrolled in the LIPA’s Low Income Program Discount, known as the Household Assistance Rate, are exempt from reconnection charges; (2) remove reference to post-paid return envelopes; and (3) expressly recognize electronic bill delivery and bill payment.   • LIPA proposes to modify the Tariff for Electric Service to establish a LIPA-administered, performance-based Retail Storage Performance Component under LIPA’s Value of Distributed Energy Resources program in lieu of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s statewide retail storage incentive program in the near-term.   • LIPA proposes to modify the Tariff for Electric Service to clarify the daily application of the Contract Demand Charges stated in SC-11 and SC-12. To view the entire proposal, click here.
