Tracey A. Edwards

Tracey A. Edwards is the Chairwoman of the LIPA Board of Trustees. A community leader and corporate executive, Ms. Edwards previously served as Commissioner of the New York State Public Service Commission and as a corporate executive for over three decades, retiring from Verizon Communications in 2015. She served as a member of the Huntington Town Council and is the former executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk. Currently, Ms. Edwards holds the position of Senior Vice President and New York Corporate Social Responsibility Officer at the Las Vegas Sands Corporation and operates her own consulting company focusing on branding, diversity, organizational, workforce, and economic development.
During her career at Verizon, Ms. Edwards led a team of 4,000 employees responsible for voice, broadband, and video services field operations across New York State. During Superstorm Sandy, Ms. Edwards led teams to restore service to thousands of businesses and consumers throughout the metropolitan area. Before moving to field operations, Ms. Edwards was Vice President of Staffing and Diversity, responsible for Human Resource policies, Ethics, College Recruiting, Staffing and Diversity, and EEO compliance for Verizon.
Ms. Edwards serves as Long Island Regional Director of the NAACP and is a member of the National Board of Directors. Tracey supports ten branches in Nassau and Suffolk focused on education, voting rights and civic engagement, public safety, criminal justice, economic empowerment, health, and environmental justice. Ms. Edwards is also on the United Way of Long Island Board of Directors and New Hour for Women and Children-LI.

Valerie Anderson Campbell

Ms. Campbell has more than 20 years of experience in building successful organizations, including her current position as a Senior Executive Recruiter and Consultant at Anderson Campbell Recruiting, a division of Anderson Campbell Enterprises. She has shaped high-performing cultures at Fortune 500 companies with communications and developmental programs to drive revenue growth while attracting and retaining high-potential talent. Ms. Campbell is a leader in the community, serving as the Nassau County Director for the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Vice President of Membership for the Uniondale Community Land Trust. Ms. Campbell also served on the Nassau Community College’s Presidential Search Committee.
In 2020, Ms. Campbell was honored as one of Long Island’s Top 50 Women in Business by the Long Island Business News and in 2019 as one of the Top Influential Long Island Women by Long Island Weekly. Ms. Campbell is a graduate of Long Island University.

Vanessa Baird-Streeter

Ms. Baird-Streeter is the CEO of the Health & Welfare Council of Long Island.
Most recently, Ms. Baird-Streeter served as the Deputy County Executive of Suffolk County. In this role, she oversaw a wide variety of County agencies, projects, and initiatives. Additionally, Ms. Baird-Streeter served as one of the County’s Police Accountability Liaisons and lead the County’s MWBE/SDVOB (Minority, Women, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned businesses) Disparity Study aimed at providing the legal framework for establishing MWBE/SVDOB requirements as part of the County’s procurement process.
Ms. Baird-Streeter’s early career began in the financial industry as a Financial Analyst for the investment bank Goldman Sachs, and during her tenure in the financial industry, she served as both a Financial Analyst and Bond Buyer. Ms. Baird-Streeter also served as the Director of the Ministry to Catholics of African Ancestry, Director of Communications for the Town of Babylon, and Executive Director and Vice President of Communications for the Long Island Power Authority from 2009-2012.
In 2012, Ms. Baird-Streeter began her tenure in Suffolk County government, first serving as Director of Communications and then Assistant Deputy County Executive before becoming Deputy County Executive in 2020. In this position, she played a significant role in the County’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and also served as a Police Accountability Liaison and Chair of the Suffolk County Police Reform and Reinvention Task Force.
Ms. Baird-Streeter has a long history of community involvement. Ms. Baird-Streeter also serves as the Executive Director of the Venettes Cultural Workshop, Inc., a performing arts organization that provides technical training and academic motivation through the Arts.
Through her work over the past 20 years, the Venettes Cultural Workshop has awarded over $500,000 to students through post-secondary and performing arts scholarships, provided academic counseling, and introduced students to the arts on an international level. During her career, Ms. Baird-Streeter has been honored by many community, civic, and educational organizations – receiving over 100 awards for her philanthropic, business, and community-based work.
Ms. Baird-Streeter is a graduate of Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Education.

Drew Biondo

Mr. Biondo is an Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Intergovernmental Relations for the Suffolk County Police Department. With over three decades of experience, Mr. Biondo has served as a strategic communications and government relations executive and administrator in both the public and private sectors.
Previously, Mr. Biondo served as the Director of Communications at Suffolk County Community College – New York State’s largest community college. Before joining the Suffolk County Community College President’s staff, Mr. Biondo served as Director of Communications and Press Secretary for now-retired New York State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle.
Mr. Biondo’s professional experience in the communications field includes tenures with the Torrenzano Group, a leading New York City strategic communications firm; Delta Financial Corporation, a publicly traded company, where Mr. Biondo served as Director of Corporate Communications; the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office serving as Assistant to the District Attorney and Director of Communications; and Vice President at the Henry Sheinkopf Communications firm, where he worked on media strategies and communications for a diverse array of clients.
Mr. Biondo is a graduate of Long Island University Post with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.
*This is Mr. Biondo’s second appointment to the LIPA Board of Trustees. In January 2018, Mr. Biondo was appointed by the New York State Senate Majority Leader and held the position for five years through March of 2023. Mr. Biondo also served on the Governance, Planning and Personnel Committee.

Laureen Harris

Ms. Harris has established herself as a credible authority on tax certiorari proceedings within the State of New York. With over 30 years of experience, Ms. Harris has gained extensive trial and appellate experience, while creating legal precedent in a myriad of areas, both in terms of valuation and legal principles. She is the past Chair and Vice Chair of the Nassau County Tax Certiorari & Condemnation Committee (1988, 2013, 1992, 2010, 2013, 2012) and has continued to be an active participant in the Committee. Ms. Harris is currently President of the Association for a Better Long Island (ABLI) and has been a Board Member since 1996. She is also a founding member and current President of the Institute of Real Estate at Hofstra University, an educational forum for the Long Island real estate community. She currently serves as the Downstate Chairman in Tax Certiorari and Condemnation for the New York State Bar Association.

Claudia Lovas

Claudia P. Lovas is a Regional Managing Attorney with Claudia P. Lovas & Associates at American Family Insurance. Ms. Lovas is a successful trial attorney with over 20 years of experience. Throughout her legal career, Ms. Lovas represented various insurance companies and their insureds in litigation throughout New York and defended religious institutions, nursing homes, and other not-for-profit organizations. Previously, Ms. Lovas was a Regional Managing Attorney with the Law Offices of Lovas & Naqvi at GuideOne Insurance Company and worked in private practice at L’Abbate, Balkan, Colavita & Contini as an Insurance Defense Attorney as well as a Litigation Associate at Zawacki, Everett & Gray.
Ms. Lovas’ career also includes time as Staff Counsel at GE Financial Assurance and as a Plaintiff’s Attorney for Brand, Brand and Burke.
Ms. Lovas holds a Juris Doctorate from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Dominick Macchia

Mr. Macchia has served as International Representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) since 1997, where he is responsible for servicing and negotiating contracts in the various industries represented by the IBEW.
Mr. Macchia is also Treasurer of both the Long Island Federation of Labor and the Labor Education and Community Services Agency Inc., where he oversees the finances of the 250,000-member federation, while ensuring governmental and regulatory compliance. In addition, Mr. Macchia serves as an Executive Board Member of the New York State AFL-CIO. Previously, he was Treasurer at the New York State Association of Electrical Workers and Business Manager at Local 1430 IBEW.
Mr. Macchia is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Mili Makhijani, Esq.

Mili Makhijani, Esq. serves as the Principal Law Clerk to Hon. Randy Sue Marber, Justice of the Supreme Court, County of Nassau. Ms. Makhijani began her legal career as an Associate and Trial Attorney at the Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington, where she litigated discrimination and civil rights cases. Later, she worked at Catalano, Gallardo & Petropoulos, focusing on professional liability defense, employment law, and complex tort litigation. Ms. Makhijani has served as an Adjunct Law Professor at the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Touro Law Center and is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA), serving on the Advisory Board of the Nassau Academy of Law, and was elected to NCBA's Board of Directors.
In November 2019, Ms. Makhijani was appointed by the former Governor as Chair of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Old Westbury College Council.
Ms. Makhijani is also a member of the Equal Justice in the Courts Committee in Supreme Nassau, and serves as the Chair of its Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Subcommittee.

David Manning

Mr. Manning is the Director of the Stakeholder Relations Office at Brookhaven National Laboratory. In this role, Mr. Manning is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing strategic internal and external communications plans and programs to advance the Lab's scientific mission, priority programs, and initiatives.
Mr. Manning has worked in both government and the private sector, including serving as the Deputy Minister of Energy for Alberta, Canada; President of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers; and Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Chief Environmental Officer for KeySpan, which later merged with National Grid.
After working for KeySpan/National Grid, Mr. Manning began working on Climate Change with M.J. Bradley and Associates, then a division of Climate Change Capital, London. Mr. Manning later joined VHB Engineering, a Boston-based firm, as Senior Vice President for Energy, developing solar and wind projects as well as gas and power line infrastructure, primarily in the Northeastern U.S. During that period, Mr. Manning also served part-time under contract as Executive Director of both the New York Smart Grid Consortium and the Canadian Smart Grid Consortium.
Mr. Manning earned a B.A. and L.L.B. in law from the University of Alberta and did post-graduate work in international law at the Australian National University. Mr. Manning also has an honorary designation in Canada as Kings Counsel.
