Proposed Rulemaking

  • LIPA proposes to modify the Tariff for Electric Service to clarify provisions governing LIPA’s External Time-Varying Rate Codes (“ETV Rate Codes”) and to update conditions in which a customer enrolled in a three-period ETV Rate Code may participate in Community Distributed Generation (“CDG”).   • LIPA proposes to modify the Tariff for Electric Service to identify how the LIPA will apply rate price changes to customer bills on ETV Rate Codes. To view the entire proposal, click here.

  • LIPA proposes to modify the Tariff for Electric Service to extend backbilling protections to small commercial customers To view the entire proposal, click here.

  • Written comments on the above proposals can be emailed to [email protected] by September 8, 2025. Comments will be provided to the Board of Trustees for their consideration. Comments can also be provided at the following public comment sessions:

    • Session 1: Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the H. Lee Dennison Building, 100 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge, NY 11788.
    • Session 2: Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. virtually or in person at 333 Earle Ovington Blvd., Suite 403, Uniondale, NY 11553. The link to register for the virtual session will be posted at a later date.
