E.F. Barrett Power Station (1956-1963)

E.F. Barrett Power Station also known as the Island Park Energy Center, located in Barnum Island is the second largest power generation facility on Long Island with a nameplate capacity of ~669 MW. Constructed by LILCO in 1956, the two main steam turbine units began operation in 1956 and 1963 respectively, running primarily on coal, and was later converted to natural gas and fuel oil.
