Utility Debt Securitization Authority (UDSA)

UDSA

The Utility Debt Securitization Authority (UDSA) is a government entity responsible for LIPA’s financial reporting. UDSA is component unit of LIPA with a mission to authorize, issue and sell restructuring bonds to finance the purchase of restructuring property.

UDSA, run by a governor-appointed Board of Trustees, keeps costs low for LIPA customers by managing the Authority’s debt by paying upfront and ongoing financing costs—lowering the costs of electric service for customers.
