			<description>The Long Island Power Authority (the “Authority” or “LIPA”) is issuing this Request for Proposals for Fuel Management Services (the “RFP” or “Fuel Management RFP”) to solicit proposals from qualified entities (“Respondents”) for fuel management services to enable the Authority to meet its contractual obligations to supply fuel to certain power plants under contract to the Authority on Long Island. The Authority’s operating subsidiary, the Long Island Lighting Company d/b/a LIPA, currently obtains fuel management services through contracts that are set to expire on or about May 27, 2013. The Authority is seeking fuel management services for a Term commencing on May 28, 2013 and ending on December 31, 2014, with a unilateral LIPA option to extend the arrangement to December 31, 2019. </description>
