LIPA President & CEO Kevin S. Law, and School Officials Convene for Long Island’s First “Back to School Energy Summit”

Uniondale, NY – Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) President and CEO Kevin S. Law will meet with Nassau County school superintendents for LIPA’s first “Back to School Energy Summit.”

The purpose of the summit is to improve the energy efficiency of Long Island’s schools and lower their energy costs. Many schools were built decades ago and without efficiency and conservation factoring heavily into their designs and operations.

“Introducing and exploring these efficiency concepts will surely benefit the many thousands of Long Island students who walk the hallways everyday,” said LIPA President and CEO Kevin S. Law. “By working together and maximizing our resources, we can reduce energy use, lower bills and educate our next generation.”

LIPA offers considerable rebates and incentives for commercial projects including the installation of photovoltaic (solar) energy systems, and will expand on those efforts next year through the launch of Efficiency Long Island, a ten-year, one billion dollar investment.

WHEN: Thursday September 18th 9:30-11am
WHERE: 2nd Floor Assembly Center
LIPA Headquarters, Omni Bldg.
333 Earle Ovington Blvd. Uniondale.
