LIPA’s Second Annual Trade Ally Energy Solutions Expo
Uniondale, NY—Continuing with its efforts to promote
energy conservation and efficiency, The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) is
hosting its second annual Trade Ally Energy Solutions Expo. The event will be
held on December 13, 2007 at the Sheraton Long Island Center in Smithtown, NY
from 8:00AM-4:00PM.
The Trade Ally Energy Solutions Expo offers an opportunity for architects, engineers, home builders and electrical contractors to network with peers and learn about new products and services. Three seminars will be conducted on constructing residential and commercial high performance buildings. The first seminar addresses building “Healthy Green Housing” and it will include information about the Energy Star certification process, windows, HVAC and more. The second seminar will focus on commercial building science. During this segment information on LEED certification and High Performance Design will be available. The third seminar is Redbook Training. Participants will learn about LIPA’s specifications and requirements for electric fundamentals. This assures that when dealing with electric service, employees can operate safely and in the best interest of mutual customers. This knowledge helps to avoid delays, violations and service reworks inevitably resulting in lost time and revenue. Each of the seminars are worth 4 credited hours from the New York State Society of Practicing Engineers.
LIPA offers many programs and services available to both small and large businesses within its LIPA Clean Energy Initiative (CEI). The CEI provides rebate incentives and consultation services to eligible commercial/industrial customers who install qualifying energy-efficient technologies as part of renovation or new construction projects. The CEI, is a 10-year, $355-million commitment to promoting clean, renewable electric generation technologies and energy conservation and efficiency.
