LIPA Restores Outages

Uniondale--February 14, 2007—2:30PM -- The St. Valentines Day Winter Storm of 2007 is not showing any love for Long Island with its snow, sleet, ice and high winds. In response to storm-related outages, the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) has extra crews working 16-hour shifts to restore service to customers as quickly as possible.

Heavy winds and ice took down power lines across Long Island as the first winter storm of 2007 caused damage to the Transmission and Distribution system but LIPA crews worked diligently to repair it.
