Free Energy Audit
Members of the REAP team come to your home and inspect your
electric appliances, lighting, heating system, and other
electric energy consuming equipment, to determine just how
energy-efficient they are.
They’ll talk to you about your lifestyle and give you
valuable information about energy-efficiency and provide
practical suggestions, like lowering the temperature on your
thermostat and using energy saving settings on appliances, to
help lower your energy costs. They’ll evaluate all the
information they gather to help determine how much money you
could save on your energy bills.
Our suggestions will be based on information you give us on
how you heat and cool your home, use appliances and any comfort
concerns you may have.
REAP the Benefits of Electric Energy Efficiency
One of the most important – and easiest – ways to lower your
electric bills is to use less energy. And one of the easiest
ways to do that is to make your home more energy efficient.
During the meeting, REAP’s team of professionals will install
certain energy saving devices in your home – at no cost to you.
The energy savers we choose will depend on your needs and
situation. But REAP will look to install those items that will
make your home the most energy efficient.
The list below gives you an idea of the kinds of electric
energy-saving measures REAP may install for its electric
customers. Of course, not all homes will need or receive all of
these measures:
- High-efficiency, compact fluorescent lightbulbs
- Energy-efficient refrigerators
- Water heater insulating jackets (for electric water
heaters)
I am interested. What should I expect?
Thank you for your participation in LIPA’s Residential
Energy Affordability Partnership (REAP) program. By allowing us
to investigate the opportunities for electrical energy
efficiency opportunities in your home, we should be able to
provide you with savings at no cost to you.
