Danford's Inn

Danford’s Inn, the popular hotel and gathering spot in scenic Port Jefferson, is a perfect example of a customer who has employed Geothermal technology to achieve significant energy savings.

Danford’s boasts a seventy-ton open loop system that has been in place for over seven years. This system originally replaced traditional, in-room Packaged Terminal Air Conditioning (PTAC) units.

The comfort of its patrons is a key concern at Danford’s. The Geothermal System provides the security that the clientele will be comfortable, while Danford’s enjoys savings of 40 to 50 percent over the original, electric heating and cooling system.

"The geothermal system is great. It is almost maintenance free and the savings have been significant. The LIPA rebate made it even more of a good decision to upgrade the system."
