2010 Storm 26: 12/26/10 - 12/28/10

Beginning Sunday, December 26, 2010 and continuing through Tuesday, December 28, 2010, Long Island was affected by a winter storm system that consisted of heavy snow as well as sustained high winds with gusts approaching 70 MPH. 271 restoration crews worked replacing poles, repairing power lines, removing trees and limbs from LIPA facilities, replacing fuses, and resetting transformers. Approximately 77% of all customers were restored in less than four hours.
