Electric Resource Plan 2010-2020
The Electric Resource Plan was approved by the LIPA Board of Trustees at the February 25, 2010 meeting.

  • Broadwater LNG: A Technical Assessment
    On July 31, 2007, LIPA released a report by Levitan & Associates, Inc. regarding the proposed Broadwater LNG Terminal.
  • Electric Utility Undergrounding Policies and Practices (PDF)
    According to a new study, it would cost approximately $33.3 billion to underground LIPA's overhead Transmission and Distribution (T&D) System, and overall system reliability would not significantly improve.
  • FTI Consulting: LIPA's Strategic Organizational Review 2005 (PDF)
    The purpose of the review was to decide whether the Authority, as currently organized and governed, was in the best position to provide Long Island with reliable power at the lowest cost over the long-term.
  • Lazard: LIPA's Strategic Review: February 2010 (PDF)
    On June 25, 2009, the LIPA Board of Trustees voted to engage Lazard to update LIPA’s 2005 Strategic Organizational Review. In accordance with this engagement, LIPA has indicated thatthe goal of the updated strategic review process is to evaluate whether the current public/private partnership between LIPA and National Grid for the operation of the Transmission and Distribution (“T&D”) system is optimal, or whether practical changes can be identified to improve upon.

  • Long Island Tidal & Wave Energy Study: An Assessment of the Resource (PDF)
    January 2007 - The scope of this study is to clarify the potential development of Tidal In-Stream Energy Conversion (TISEC) and Wave Energy Conversion (WEC) systems as they relate to marine resources in the LIPA service territory.
  • Shoreham Site Evaluation Potential for Additional Generation Report (PDF)
    The objective of the study was to site the maximum amount of combined cycle generating capacity within two different parcels of land, designated as “Parcel A” and “Parcel B”.
