Banner Attachments
The Long Island Power Authority, in keeping with the aim of providing safe and effective utilization of its facilities, does allow the attachment of banners from its utility poles as a public service. A civic group can obtain needed permission to attach a banner by filing an application. That application can be downloaded from this site. The rules and regulations required to maintain structural integrity of LIPA’s poles and to protect the general public are included and must be adhered to. An agreement detailing those rules and regulations requires signature on the part of the civic group and National Grid on behalf of LIPA.
These rules include:
- Installation by a qualified electrician
- Providing liability insurance
- Notification of Verizon
- Notification of required governmental agencies
