LIPA Networks Big Savings for Invision Expansion

Commack-based Invision is among the regions largest most innovative companies providing managed services for Web hosting, Web and e-business development and integration. Invision currently serves over 700 customers.

When Invision decided to expand from 10,500 to 15,500 square feet, they called LIPA. Specialists from LIPA's Economic Development team worked closely with Invision management to ensure the company received the most advantageous rate discounts available.* With Invision's electric load growing from an initial 195kW to an estimated 1,400kW after the expansion to 15,500 square feet, the company will qualify for significant electric rate discounts. Over the next five years, LIPA's electric rate discounts will save Invision approximately $900,000 in electric energy costs for their current expansion plans.

According to Invision management, the significant savings from LIPA's Economic Development rate discounts are enabling the company to continue to expand, creating more jobs for Long Islanders.

LIPA Serves Up Savings to Whitsons Culinary Group

Islandia-based Whitsons Culinary Group is one of the region's largest and most innovative dining service companies. Their clientele includes corporations, schools, and residential and health care facilities. When Whitsons decided to expand its operations from 12,000 sq. ft. to their new 56,000 sq. ft. Islandia facility, they called LIPA.

As a regionally significant project as defined by New York State, Whitsons was able to receive LIPA's Empire Zone Discount Rate. Over five years, Whitsons will save approximately $30,000 in electric energy costs.

An energy audit also conducted by LIPA led to the selection and installation of new, energy-efficient lighting that netted Whitsons over $5,000 in LIPA Clean Energy rebates. This new lighting equipment will save Whitsons almost $7,000 annually in energy costs. All in all, Whitsons Culinary Group is dining on big savings from LIPA.
