Solar Entrepreneur Program Rebates & Forms

With LIPA's rebate municipalities, schools and non-profit organizations significantly reduce the cost of purchasing a PV system.

LIPA Rebate for Municipalities, Schools and Not-for-Profit Organizations

  • Must be an electric customer located in LIPA service territory
  • LIPA rebates are valid only for new grid-connected PV systems
  • $1.75 per watt up to 50 kW with a maximum of $87,500*
  • Schools, governments, Not-for-profits, etc. are eligible to be pre-approved for up to 50kWdc (per 12 month period). Multiple applications will be accepted, but the combined kWdc shall not exceed 50 kWdc.
  • Rebates are on a first-come, first-serve basis pending application pre-approval by LIPA

* The maximum rebate paid by LIPA per metered account will not exceed 50 kw dc or 65% of the installed costs, whichever is less. 

Please Note: Houses of Worship, who are billed under a residential rate code (i.e., 180, 181, etc.) will be treaty as non-residential customers in accordance with the eligibility of net metering as per the tariff for electric service (see leaf no. 34g). These customers should file a Solar Entrepreneur application for Schools, government and not-for-profits which are eligible to receive rebates up to the maximum 50kW cap.
